This five-day conference is being held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, June 15-19, 2008, where a concentration of real-time Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and tolling facilities are located. Along with a full conference program, attendees can observe active freeway management, open roads tolling and proposed managed lane corridors within 30-miles of the host hotel. Three nearby international airports provide easy access to the conference from anywhere in the world.

The student conference registration fee (applies to full-time students only) covers admission to all sessions, breaks and lunch only. Breakfasts and the networking dinner are NOT included in the student registration fee.

Online registration will be available until 6:00 p.m. EDT June 6, 2008. After this date, please plan to register on-site at the event.

Conference registration will be available at the hotel immediately prior to the conference. The late registration fee of $500 for Industry and Government and $350 for Students will be in effect during that time. Check, money order and credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) will be accepted on-site.

Event Management & Planning (EM&P) cannot invoice; therefore, payment of the conference registration fee must be received prior to admission to the conference. For payment processing purposes, the vendor identification number for TTI EM&P is 37277277275000. The federal identification number is 74-2270624.

Please make checks or money orders (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank) payable to TTI-2008 FTOC. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards are also accepted.

The regular participant conference registration fee covers admission to all sessions, exhibit hall, breakfasts, lunches, breaks, a networking dinner, and night out on the town.

Cancellation

Only cancellations received in writing by EM&P by 6:00 p.m. EDT May 1, 2008, will be refunded, less a $100 handling fee. No refunds will be made after May 1.

If you would like to be considered for the program, please submit an abstract. The focus of this conference will be on freeway and tollway operations and how pricing and public-private partnerships may impact the future.

The 2008 Freeway and Tollway Conference will have four tracks with the following topics:

  • Operations and Control Center Technologies
  • Safety in Incident Management

Abstracts should be no more than one page in length and may be on any of the topics listed above or any topic relevant to the conference. The intent is to identify presentations for the conference (i.e., no paper is required). If you would like to submit a paper to be included in the proceedings, please indicate this in your submittal.

Hotel Information

Accommodations have been arranged at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center & Spa, approximately a 20 minute drive from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. The room block is available until May 22, 2008. A limited number of rooms are available in each conference block. Please refer to "2008 FTOC" when making your reservation by phone.

When making an online reservation, to obtain the special conference rates FOR GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES, please enter "fgov" (no spaces) under the "GROUP/CORPORATE #" field. For NON-GOVERNMENT REGISTRANTS (all others), please enter "ftoc" (no spaces) under the "GROUP/CORPORATE #" field.

These group rates will be available 3 days prior and 3 days after the meeting dates, subject to availability of rooms at the time of reservation.

Reservations for this event received after this date will be accepted on a space available and rate available basis. All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid major credit card number, which will be supplied at the time of the reservation. Please confirm your room rate when you make your reservation and confirm this rate upon your arrival at the hotel. To avoid cancellation fees, reservations must be cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival day. Failure to give proper cancellation notice will result in the room night and tax being charged to you.

FROM FORT LAUDERDALE / HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Exit airport taking I-595 West approximately 15 miles to Exit 1A (136th Avenue/State Road 84). Proceed straight, West on State Road 84 approximately 2.5 miles (thru light at Weston Road) to Bonaventure Blvd. Turn left onto Bonaventure, beneath expressway and thru stop light, about 1/10 mile to Racquet Club Road. Turn right onto Racquet Club Road and proceed 1/3 mile to hotel entrance on your left.

FROM MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Exit airport and take 836 West (Dolphin Expressway) approximately 4 miles to 826 North (Palmetto Expressway). Take 826 North approximately 10 miles to I-75 North. Take I-75 North to Royal Palm Boulevard (old Arvida Parkway), Exit 15. Go West on Royal Palm Boulevard (old Arvida Parkway) to 3rd traffic light, Bonaventure Blvd. Turn right on Bonaventure and proceed North approximately 2 miles through 4 intersections to Racquet Club Road. Turn left onto Racquet Club Road. The hotel is 1/3 mile down Racquet Club Road on your left.

FROM THE NORTH - Sawgrass Expressway (SR 869)

After leaving the toll plaza, take the immediate exit - Sunrise Blvd, and make a left onto Sunrise Blvd at the traffic light. Take Sunrise to second stop light - 136th Avenue, turn right onto 136th. Proceed south on 136th to State Road 84. Turn right onto State Road 84 and go West approximately 2.5 miles thru light at Weston Road to Bonaventure Blvd. Turn left onto Bonaventure beneath the expressway, thru stop light, about 1/10 mile to Racquet Club Road. Turn right onto Racquet Club Road. The hotel is 1/3 mile down Racquet Club Road on your left.

FROM THE NORTH OR SOUTH - Florida Turnpike

Exit at I-595 Ft. Lauderdale. Take I-595 West to exit 1A (136th Avenue/State Road 84). Proceed straight West on State Road 84 and go West approximately 2.5 miles (through stop light at Weston Road) to Bonaventure Blvd. Turn left onto Bonaventure beneath the expressway, thru stop light, about 1/10 mile to Racquet Club Road. FROM THE NORTH OR SOUTH - I-95

Exit I-595 West and proceed approximately 13 miles West to Exit 1A (136th Avenue/State Road 84). Proceed straight West on State Road 84 and go West approximately 2.5 miles (through stop light at Weston Road) to Bonaventure Blvd. Turn left onto Bonaventure beneath the expressway, thru stop light, about 1/10 mile to Racquet Club Road. FROM THE SOUTH - I-75

Take Exit 15 Royal Palm Boulevard (old Arvida Parkway). Go West on Royal Palm to 3rd traffic light - Bonaventure Blvd. Turn right onto Bonaventure Blvd. and proceed north approximately 2 miles thru 4 intersections. Make a left at Racquet Club Road and proceed 1/3 mile to hotel entrance on your left.

FROM THE WEST - I-75:

Take Exit 22 Glades Parkway (old Arvida Parkway). Proceed East on State Road 84, thru light at Glades Parkway, approximately 3 miles to East Mall Road (Chevron Gas Station). Turn right on East Mall Road and go 1 block South to Racquet Club Road. The hotel will be directly in front of you. Turn right on Racquet Club Road to hotel entrance on your left.
