Are you interested in enriching your courses and curricula to meet the needs and interests of tomorrow's students? Then make plans to attend the 2007 National Conference on Changing Higher Education in Agriculture and Related Sciences sponsored by the Academic Program Section of the NASULGC Board on Agriculture Assembly.

This conference is designed to meet the interests and needs of many:

  • Faculty who are early adopters and interested in embracing change in the classroom;
  • Departmental and faculty leaders who are involved in modifying and implementing curricula changes; and
  • College administrators who facilitate teaching and curriculum programs.

Teams from academic institutions are recommended so that you can work together to plan and implement academic and curricula modifications within your respective university. The composition and representation of team members will be determined by you.

The Hilton Hotel & Conference Center in College Station, Texas will serve as the host location for this year's conference. College Station also serves as home to Texas A&M University and the George Bush Presidential Library.

Conference Registration

Online registration is no longer available for this conference. On-site registration will be available at the College Station Hilton Hotel & Conference Center.

Online Registration and Conference Fee

$100 online registration through May 18, 2007
$125 late online registration from May 19, 2007 through June 6, 2007
$50 Guest/Spouse registration (accompanying conference participant)
$150, onsite registration

The registration fee includes the conference reception, continental breakfasts, luncheons, dinners and conference breaks. Payment must be postmarked by May 18, 2007 in order to avoid the $25 late fee.

You may pay your registration fee by check, money order, credit card, or purchase order. Please make checks or money orders (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank) payable to TTI-AgHE. EM&P also accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards. EM&P cannot invoice; therefore, payment of the conference registration fee must be received prior to admission to the conference.

For payment processing purposes, the vendor identification number for TTI EM&P is 37277277275000. The federal identification number is 74-2270624.

Registrations received after May 18 will be charged a $25 late fee. On-site registrations will be charged a $50 late fee. There is a $5 charge for duplicate receipts.

Those that pre-register will receive an e-mail confirming their attendance.

Conference Check-In/On-site Registration

Conference check-in/on-site registration will be available at the College Station Hilton Hotel & Conference Center during the following times:

12:00 noon - 5:30 pm

Tuesday, June 12, 2007
7:00 am - 9:00 am

Please note that a $50 late fee will be in effect for all on-site registrations.

Cancellation

Only cancellations received in writing/e-mail to EM&P by 5:00 pm (CST) on Thursday, May 31, 2007 will be refunded, less a $25 handling fee. No refunds will be made after May 31.

All conference participants are responsible for making their own reservations. The room block will be available until Monday, May 21, 2007.

Conference block:
Single: $85 per night
Double: $105 per night

To make reservations, individuals should contact the College Station Hilton directly at (979) 693-7500 or by calling Central Reservations at 800-HILTONS and referring to the group code ALCO. Reservations must be made on or before the cut-off date of May 21. All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid major credit card number which must be supplied at the time of the reservation. Please confirm your room rate when making your reservation and confirm this rate upon your arrival at the hotel. To avoid cancellation fees, cancellations will be accepted prior to 24 hours local hotel time of the day of arrival. Failure to give proper cancellation notice will result in the room night and tax being charged to you.

Check-in time is 4:00 pm
Check-out time is 12:00 noon

Driving Directions

From Easterwood Airport:

College Station is serviced by Easterwood Airport. Easterwood Airport is 5 miles (approximately 10 minutes) from the Hilton Hotel & Conference Center.

  • Take Highway 60/University Drive east (turn right out of the airport)
  • Proceed past Texas A&M University, past the main intersection of Texas Ave. and University Dr.
  • Continue straight, the Hilton will appear ahead on the left.
  • Turn left at Tarrow St. and then right into the entrance of the hotel parking.
From Houston (George Bush Intercontinental Airport):
  • Follow airport exit to Beltway 8
  • Right (west) on Beltway 8 - will become Sam Houston Tollway
  • Right (west) on U.S. 290 (Austin exit)
  • Right (north) on Texas 6 (College Station/Bryan exit)
  • HWY 6 will split just south of College Station - stay on HWY 6 (merge right)
  • Continue for 3 miles, exit University Drive/Texas A&M University
  • Left (west) at the light, over HWY 6 onto University Drive
  • Continue less than one mile. Hilton will be on the right
From Houston (William P. Hobby Airport):
  • Follow airport exit signs to I-45
  • North on I-45 for approximately 15 minutes through downtown Houston
  • Take Exit #51 - I-610 West
  • Right (west) on U.S. 290 (Austin exit)
  • Right (north) on Texas 6 (College Station/Bryan exit)
  • HWY 6 will split just south of College Station - stay on HWY 6 (merge right)
  • Continue for 3 miles, exit University Drive/Texas A&M University
  • Left (west) at the light, over HWY 6 onto University Drive
  • Continue less than one mile. Hilton will be on the right
From Dallas:
  • South on I-35 to Waco
  • Take Exit #339 in Waco (Loop 340)
  • Left (east) on Loop 340
  • Continue on Loop 340 until intersection with Texas 6
  • Left (east) on Texas 6 to Bryan/College Station
  • At College Station, Right (west) at University Drive [F.M. 60] exit
  • Turn right at the light onto University Drive
  • Continue for less than one mile, the Hilton will be on the right.
From Austin:
  • East on U.S. 290 towards Houston
  • Exit Texas 21 and turn left
  • Near Bryan, right exit on Texas 47 [College Station/Texas A&M University exit]
  • Continue south on Texas 47 until you reach F.M. 60 [University Drive]
  • Proceed past Texas A&M University, past the main intersection of Texas Ave. and University Dr.
  • Continue straight. The Hilton will appear ahead on the left.
  • Turn left at Tarrow Street and then right into the entrance of the hotel parking.
