About The Conference
I-TED 2014 will be the fifth international conference to concentrate on the linkage between transportation and economic development. Held April 9-11 in Dallas, Texas, USA, this conference will focus on the issues and challenges related to the economy, global concerns, and financial constraints. Participants will discuss and address the emerging transportation needs of businesses and economic development. The scope at which this conference applies includes local, regional, state, national, and global levels.
TED the Transportation and Economic Development Committee in conjunction with TRB and Texas A&M Transportation Institute will conduct the fifth International Transportation and Economic Development Conference. The conference will provide insight and information concerning the following topics:
- Economic development implications of alternative transportation funding and financing strategies.
- Economic development potential of passenger transport and freight rail infrastructure.
- Assessing the economic development effects and community change of transit-oriented development.
- International, national and regional economic development impacts of the Panama Canal expansion.
- Linkages of international trade, economic development and transportation corridors and facilities.
- Economic development implications of transportation disinvestment.
- Climate change mitigation effects on transportation investments and sustainable economic development.
- New perspectives on economic impact evaluation.
- Economic development within the context of MAP-21 (July 2012 Re-Authorization Bill).

Call for Abstracts
The TRB Committee on Transportation and Economic Development is pleased to announce and invite you to attend and participate in the 2014 International Transportation and Economic Development Conference to be held at the Sheraton Hotel, Dallas TX on Wednesday, April 9 through Friday, April 11, 2014. The 5th ITED conference builds on the successful experience of past ITED conferences and continues the focus on linkages between transportation and economic development. This conference will provide an international forum for sharing the research findings, implementation and policy analyses, and will feature international representation, keynote speakers, researchers, and practitioners.
The success of the conference depends on practitioners and researchers like you sharing their stories!

Registration for this conference is under development.
Online registration will be available until 5:00 p.m. DST, Tuesday, April 1, 2014. After this date, please plan to register on-site at the Sheraton Dallas.
Pre-registration is recommended and will help us in planning and preparing a better conference. If you pre-register, your name tag and program packet will be ready when you arrive at the hotel. The fee is $325 through Friday, February 14, 2014. A $25 late fee will be added to registrations received after Friday, February 14, 2014.
You are encouraged to register online. Please make check or money orders (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank) payable to TTI-ITED14. Event Management & Planning (EM&P) also accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards. If paying by check or money order, you may register online and then mail your payment to EM&P. EM&P cannot invoice; therefore, payment of the conference registration fee must be received prior to admission to the conference.
For payment processing purposes, the vendor identification number for TTI-EM&P is 37277277275000. The federal identification number is 74-2270624.
Conference registration will be available at the hotel immediately prior to the conference. An on-site registration fee of $400 will be in effect during that time. Check, money order, exact cash, and credit card payments will be accepted on-site.
On-site registration will be available in the Atrium starting at the following times:
- Wednesday, April 9 — 12:00 noon - 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday, April 10 — 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Friday, April 11 — 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Only cancellations received in writing by EM&P by 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2014 will be refunded, less a $50 handling fee. No refunds will be made after Friday, February 14, 2014.
The Sheraton Dallas Hotel is holding a block of rooms for our use at a special group rate. We encourage everyone needing a room to call immediately since we anticipate the rooms will be booked quickly.
Reservations should be made by March 31, 2014. After this date, rooms are subject to availability and may be at a higher rate. To make your reservations, please call the Sheraton Dallas Hotel at (214) 922-8000 or (888) 627-8191. Remember to ask reservations for the "2014 ITED Conference" to receive consideration for special rates on rooms.
