Travel awards were presented to sixteen recipients at the recent 13th International Conference on Modern Trends in Activation Analysis. The expressed focus of the meeting was renewal and revitalization of nuclear analytical methods with an eye towards identifying those unique approaches and applications that are likely to be vital in the future – a future where these young people will be instrumental in any successes to be achieved. To this end, the organizers, Texas A&M and our other sponsors wanted to make sure that financial support for attendance was tied to innovative youthful participation.
Each awardee, selected based on an application letter, a letter of support from an established scientist acting as his or her sponsor and a submitted abstract of completed work, received complimentary registration and $1000 USD towards the travel costs associated with his/her attendance at the conference. The monetary award was presented at a special ceremony during the conference banquet on Thursday evening, March 17, 2011. Presentation photos for each awardee can be viewed by selecting the link his/her name. Please join us in congratulating the list of recipients presented below in PDF.
