The Texas A&M Transportation Institute cordially invites you to attend the 2013 National Highway-Rail Grade Crossing Safety Training Conference. No matter what your area of expertise, we are all working toward a common goal — significant and permanent reduction in the number of death and injuries occurring at highway-rail grade crossings and along rail rights-of-way.
The 2013 planning committee is committed to providing an informative program. Some of this year's topics include:
- High-Speed Rail Program Updates
- Crossing Signs and Pavement Markings
- Safety Enhancements at Multiple Incident Crossings
- Utilizing Data to Improve Crossing Safety
- Establishing and Analyzing Quiet Zones
- Challenges and Suggestions for dealing with Short Storage Crossings
- New Issues with Private Crossings
- Treatments and Guidelines for Pedestrian Crossings
In addition to these informative sessions, a peer exchange workshop is being planned for Tuesday, November 5th beginning at 1:30 p.m.
A copy of the preliminary program and additional information about the workshop will be available soon. An email with these updates will be sent when available, or keep checking back for further developments!
Registration Information
You are encouraged to register online for this event.
Online registration will be available until 5:00 pm CST, Friday, October 18, 2013. After this date, please plan to register on-site at the Hilton Fort Worth.
Onsite Registration/Information Desk
On-site conference registration will be available at the hotel during the conference. The $125 late fee will be in effect during that time. Check, money order, exact cash and credit card payments will be accepted on-site.
Registration Fees
The registration fee covers all conference functions.
- $300, Conference Registration Fee (through October 3, 2013)
- $425, Conference Registration Fee (after October 3, 2013)
- $900, Exhibitor Registration Fee (through October 3, 2013)
- $1100, Exhibitor Registration Fee (after October 3, 2013)
- $120, Speaker Registration Fee (including Session Coordinators/Moderators)
- $425, Onsite
Pre-registration is recommended and will help us in planning and preparing a better conference. If you pre-register, your name tag and program packet will be ready when you arrive at the hotel.
Payment Information
Please make check or money order (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank) payable to TTI-HRG13. Event Management & Planning (EM&P) also accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. If paying by check or money order, you may register online and then mail your payment to EM&P. EM&P cannot invoice; therefore, payment of the conference registration fee must be received prior to admission to the conference. NO PURCHASE ORDERS ACCEPTED.
For payment processing purposes, the vendor identification number for TTI EM&P is 37277277275000. The federal identification number is 74-2270624.
Cancellations
Only cancellations received in writing by EM&P by 5:00 p.m. October 3, 2013, will be refunded, less a $125 handling fee. No refunds will be made after October 3.

Speaker Information
We extend our appreciation for your acceptance to speak at the 2013 National Highway-Rail Grade Crossing Safety Training Conference. A letter detailing the specific date and time of your presentation and registration information will be mailed to you in the next few weeks.
Speakers should register online no later than October 18, 2013.

Hotel Reservations
Accommodations have been arranged at the Hilton Fort Worth, located at 815 Main Street, Fort Worth, TX, with $139 nightly room rates or prevailing government rate. The room block is available November 3-6, 2013. Please refer to "2013 National Rail Conference" when making your reservation.
To receive special conference rates, individuals should call the Hilton directly at (817) 870-2100 or by calling toll free 1-800-HILTONS, and identify the event as "2013 National Rail Conference." Reservations made through another method, such as a Travel Agent, may not receive the negotiated group rate. Please confirm your room rate when you make your reservation and confirm this rate upon your arrival at the hotel. Please assist us in keeping conference costs down by meeting our room block requirements at this hotel. All reservations for sleeping rooms must be received by October 4, 2013. Reservations received after this date will be accepted on a space available and rate available basis.

Any attendee not identifying his/her affiliation with the group and not requesting the conference rate prior to check-in cannot be extended the conference rate at a later date or during or after the meeting.
