This is the Annual National meeting of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials — Standing Committee on Rail Transportation (SCORT).

Registration Information

Online registration is no longer being accepted for this conference. On-site registration will be available at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel immediately prior to the conference.

The registration fee is $325 until July 17, 2006. After July 17, the registration fee will be assessed a $50 late fee. You may pay your registration fee by check, money order, or credit card.

Payment must be postmarked by July 17, 2006 in order to avoid the late fee. EM&P cannot invoice; therefore, payment of the conference registration fee must be received prior to admission to the conference.

Conference registration will be available at the hotel immediately prior to the conference. An additional $50 on-site registration fee will be in effect during that time. Registration fee on site is $425. Check, money order and credit card payments will be accepted on-site.

For payment processing purposes, the vendor identification number for TTI-Event Management & Planning is 37277277275000. The federal identification number is 74-2270624.

Please make checks or money orders (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank) payable to TTI-SCORT. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.

The single conference registration fee covers admission to all sessions, continental breakfasts, two luncheons, breaks, the welcome reception, "An Evening at the Buckhorn" dinner event, and one copy of the proceedings.

Cancellation

Only cancellations received in writing by EM&P by 5:00 p.m. CST July 10, 2006, will be refunded, less a $100 handling fee. No refunds will be made after July 10.

Speaker Information

We extend our appreciation for your acceptance to speak at the 2006 SCORT National Meeting.

Speakers are required to register according to the registration rate guidelines. Speakers should register no later than July 10, 2006 to indicate their audio/visual needs.

Hotel Information

Accommodations have been arranged at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel, located at 205 East Houston Street in San Antonio, Texas. The room block is available until August 19, 2006. A limited number of rooms are available in the conference block. Please make your reservations as early as possible to ensure availability. Please refer to "AASHTO SCORT" when making your reservation.

Double: $111 per night

To make reservations, individuals should call the Sheraton Gunter Hotel directly at 210-227-3241 or 888-999-2089. Reservations for this event received after this date will be accepted on a space available and rate available basis. All reservations must be guaranteed and accompanied by a major credit card number to guarantee reservation, or advance payment of first night's room and tax. Please confirm your room rate when you make your reservation and confirm this rate upon your arrival at the hotel. To avoid cancellation fees, reservations must be cancelled by 6:00 pm the day before arrival. Failure to give proper cancellation notice will result in the room night and tax being charged to you. Any attendee not identifying his/her affiliation with the group and not requesting the conference rate prior to check-in cannot be extended the conference rate at a later date or during or after the meeting.

Driving Directions

To get to the Sheraton Gunter Hotel, take the Commerce Street exit off of I-37/281 South. Turn right on Navarro Street. Travel four blocks and turn left on Travis Street. Then, go one block to St. Mary's Street and turn left. The Sheraton Gunter is on your left.

Transportation

The San Antonio International Airport is 12 miles away.

SATRANS provides a shuttle service between the airport and downtown hotels for $14 one-way, $24 round trip. To pre-arrange for this service, please contact SATRANS at 210-281-9900. SATRANS is located in the baggage claim area in the airport. For more details, please visit their web site.

Metered service based on $1.60 during daytime hours (5 a.m.-9 p.m.); $2.60 during nighttime hours (9 p.m.-5 a.m.). Time to downtown business district is approximately 15 minutes, average fare $19.00 - $20.00 plus tip. There is no extra charge for additional passengers. Rates subject to change. Large minivans are also available and can transport up to 7 passengers downtown for an average of $15 per trip.

A city trolley stop for the VIA Streetcar (an open air, authentic reproduction of a rail streetcar which traveled the streets of San Antonio more than 50 years ago) is located just outside of the Hotel on Houston Street. For an 80 cent fee you can travel throughout historic downtown San Antonio. Transfers between streetcars are 15 cents. View more details and maps of routes online.

Parking

Valet parking is available at the Hotel for $14 per night with in and out privileges. Valet day parking is available for $9 per day. Be sure to inform the hotel staff you are with the AASHTO SCORT conference in order to receive this discounted rate.

There is no self-parking available at the Hotel. Self-parking is available across the street from the Hotel on Travis Street. Alternative parking lots surround the area and are walking distance from the Hotel. The valet attendant can help with directions.
