Call for Nominations
At the Texas Aviation Conference held each spring, the Texas Department of Transportation's Aviation Division presents four customer service awards. Award nominations for the 2011 Texas Aviation Conference at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin, Texas, are requested for the following categories:
- Most Improved General Aviation Airport
- General Aviation Airport of the Year
- General Aviation Airport Manager of the Year
- Reliever Airport of the Year or Reliever Airport Manager of the Year

Registration Fees & Payment Information
Pre-registration is recommended and will help us in planning and preparing a better conference. If you pre-register, your name tag and program packet will be ready when you arrive at the hotel. The fee is $175 through April 13, 2011. A $50 late fee will be added to registrations received after April 13, 2011. An additional $75 fee will be added for all on-site registrations.
TxDOT employees are exempt from the registration fee, but must register in advance for the conference.
Students are exempt from the registration fee if they are enrolled in a higher education aviation program. Space is limited so register NOW!
NOTE: Online registration will be available until 5:00 p.m. CST, May 13, 2011. After this date, please plan to register on-site at the Renaissance Austin Hotel.
You are encouraged to register online. Please make check or money orders (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank) payable to TTI-Avtn2011. Event Management & Planning (EM&P) also accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards. If paying by check or money order, you may register online and then mail your payment to EM&P. EM&P cannot invoice; therefore, payment of the conference registration fee must be received prior to admission to the conference. NO PURCHASE ORDERS ACCEPTED.

The registration fee covers conference handouts, break refreshments, Wednesday and Thursday evening activities, including the awards banquet.
Cancellation
Only cancellations received in writing by EM&P by 5:00 p.m. CST on April 13, 2011 will be refunded, less $50 handling fee. No refunds will be issued after this date.

Special Activities
Golf Tournament
On Wednesday, May 25, 2011 our 14th Annual Golf Tournament at Balcones Country Club in Austin, Texas (see map for directions). The fee to participate is $45.00 and you can pay online with your conference registration. There will be a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. All golfers must be registered to attend the conference. Event Management & Planning (EM&P) will contact you at least two weeks before the conference.
Planes and Lanes Event
On Wednesday, May 25, 2011 the 4th Annual Bowling Event, sponsored by Garver, will be held at Highland Lanes from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (see map for directions). The event will consist of two hours of bowling with lunch included. The fee is $10.00 and you can pay online with your conference registration.
Alton Young Memorial Motorcycle Ride
Sponsored by C.T. Brannon Corporation. Kickstands up at 10:00 a.m., destination unknown. To sign up and to receive further details please contact Karen Smith at karen-s@tamu.edu for further details.
Get-Acquainted Reception
A get acquainted reception is planned for Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The reception will be in the Exhibit Area at the Renaissance Austin Hotel with Hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
Awards Banquet
Plan to join us on Thursday evening for the Awards Banquet. All registered participants are encouraged to attend. Guest tickets are also available for $35. Tickets can be purchased online when you register for the conference. There will be a social following the Awards Banquet, hosted by Rodriguez Engineering.

Hotel Reservations
The Renaissance Austin Hotel is holding a block of rooms for our use. The state rate room block has sold out. Non-government rooms are still available at $209 . We encourage everyone who needs a sleeping room to make a reservation immediately. We anticipate the rooms will be booked quickly.
Reservations should be made by May 3, 2011 by 5:00 p.m. to receive the discounted rates. After this date, rooms may be available at a higher rate. Remember to ask for reservations for the "Texas Aviation Conference" to receive the special discounted rates on sleeping rooms.
