Planning is underway for the Statewide 2008 Traffic Safety Conference. Sessions will include information on:

  • Law Enforcement Issues,
  • Emergency Response,
  • Motorcycle Safety,
  • Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety, and
  • Enforcement Technologies.

Registration Information

Online registration is no longer available. Registration will be available on-site at the Houston Hobby Airport Marriott.

Pre-registration is recommended and will help us in planning and preparing a better conference. If you pre-register, your name tag and program packet will be ready when you arrive at the hotel. The fee is $125 through Friday, October 17, 2008. A $25 late fee will be added to registrations received after October 17, 2008.

Please make check or money order (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank) payable to TTI-Safety08. Event Management & Planning (EM&P) also accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards. If paying by check or money order, you may register online and then mail your payment to EM&P. EM&P cannot invoice; therefore, payment of the conference registration fee must be received prior to admission to the conference. NO PURCHASE ORDERS ACCEPTED.

For payment processing purposes, the vendor identification number for TTI EM&P is 37277277275000. The federal identification number is 74-2270624.

Conference registration will be available at the hotel immediately prior to the conference. On-site registration fee of $175 will be in effect during that time. Check, money order, exact cash, and credit card payments will be accepted on-site.

Cancellations

Only cancellations received in writing by EM&P by 5:00 p.m. October 17, 2008, will be refunded, less a $50 handling fee. No refunds will be made after October 17.

Speaker Information

Speakers are required to register according to the registration rate guidelines. Speakers should register no later than October 17, 2008 to indicate their audio/visual needs.

Hotel Reservations

The Houston Hobby Airport Marriott is holding a block of rooms for our use at the nightly rate of $85 for single and double and $125 for a king room. We encourage everyone needing a room to call immediately since we anticipate the rooms will be booked quickly.

Reservations should be made by November 3, 2008. After this date, rooms are subject to availability and may be at a higher rate. To receive this conference rate, please access the sleeping room block online. The code for the you to receive special rates on rooms for the "Traffic Safety Conference" has already been entered, if using the link above.

The hotel did sustain damage from HURRICANE IKE, but they will be fully operational by our conference date. Remember to ask reservations for the "Traffic Safety Conference" to receive special rates on rooms.

The Houston Hobby Airport Marriott provides complimentary parking.

Continuing Education Units

Law Enforcement agencies can receive TCLEOSE credits for attending the conference. A certificate of attendance will be available at the end of the conference. TCLEOSE will use this certificate to award credits.
