Bio/Expertise Highlights: I recieved my BS in Civil Engineering in May 1985. I have 22 years experience in design and planning transportation projects. I have managed the Beaumont District Consultant Contract section since March 2006. Our section spends just over $6 million per year on contracts.

Presentation Summary: This session covers the latest technology innovations from the Engineering and Survey section of ISD relating to TxDOT design areas.
Bio/Expertise Highlights: W. Dean Wilkerson, PE, RPLS, is the Director of Engineering and Survey Systems in the Information Systems Division of the Texas Department of Transportation. Dean holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and is registered as a Professional Engineer in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas and is registered as a Professional Land Surveyor in Texas and Arkansas. He manages the CADD, GEOPAK, Survey, GIS, GPS, and Photogrammetry sections and has over 15 years working in these areas in Arkansas and Texas.

Title: Research Engineer

Presentation Title: Updating the NCHRP 350 Crash Test Guidelines
Presentation Summary: The presentation will describe proposed changes to NCHRP Report 350 crash test guidelines and provide a preliminary assessment regarding how these changes will effect current TxDOT roadside safety hardware.
Bio/Expertise Highlights: Dr. Bligh is a Research Engineer and Manager of the Roadside Safety Program at TTI. He holds both a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas. Since joining TTI in 1986, Dr. Bligh has specialized in the field of roadside safety. He has extensive experience in applied research dealing with the design, analysis, testing, and evaluation of highway safety appurtenances, and in the development of guidelines for their safe placement and use.
