Presentation Summary: This presentation will describe the use of a newly developed risk management tool, the Advance Planning Risk Analysis (APRA) tool, that provides an effective mechanism for management of utility, R/W, design, and environmental risk during the advance planning phase of a transportation project.

Presentation Summary: The SH 183 Project Development Team will demonstrate the creation and application of Computer Visualization Tools in Public Involvement on SH 183 in Irving and Dallas.
Bio/Expertise Highlights: Matthew Craig, P.E., leads Halff Associates' Advance Planning Team with 24 years experience. With the support of Halff's specialized team dedicated to computer visualization, Mr. Craig's team at Halff has prepared over 100 miles of fully animated roadway corridors used in numerous public meetings and community outreach presentations. Halff's animation team has served TxDOT District's in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and El Paso as well as the North Texas Tollway Authority, Texas Attorney Generals Office and Dallas Area Rapid Transit.

Over the last decade he has been heavily involved in utilities and ROW-related research. Results of his work have appeared in research reports, peer-reviewed journal papers, and conference proceedings.

Bio/Expertise Highlights: Nasser Askari P.E. has been a Project Manager in the Dallas District Advance Project Development for 9 years, leading several urban coridor studies including State Highway 183 Interstae Higheay 35E and Loop 12. His Successful public involvement efforts have extensively used visualization tecnnologies. Matthew Craig P.E. leads Halff Associates Advance Planning Team with 24 years experience. With the Support of Halffs specialized team dedicated to computer visualization Mr. Craigs team at Halff has prepared over 100 miles of fully animated roadway corridors used in numerious public meetings and community outreach presentations. Presentation Summary: The presentation will provide an overview of utility data management research activities including a new web application called Utility Accommodation and Conflict Tracker.
Bio/Expertise Highlights: The TTI Transguide office in San Antonio has siginificant experience with the development of management tools in the area of ROW and utilities. The goal of project 0-5475 is the development of a data architecture that will enable TxDOT to manage utility conflicts and related data. One project deliverable is a prototype system based on the data architecture that allows TxDOT to assess and review the system's functionality. As the principal investigator of this project I have supervised the development of the data architecture and prototype system development.

Bio/Expertise Highlights: I have worked in the Right of Way profession for 20 years. The last three years have been as the Waco District Right of Way Administrator. The Waco District currently has one of the highest work loads in the State of Texas and requires a large number of Right of Way Acquisition providers to accomplish these projects.
