Presentation Summary: I will present the district's perspective in the use of the Infrared Bar to monitor temperature differential during the construction of hot mix asphalt concrete, particularly how it effects other parameters such as in-place air voids, aging, and ride.
Bio/Expertise Highlights: I am a registered professional engineer and have worked in the area of construction of civil projects for 28 years. The last 23 years have been working for TxDOT, and the last 18 years have been in the capcity of the District Pavement Engineer, among other duties. I have also participated in the TxDOT research program in pavements for the last 18 years. My experience has been primarily with flexible pavements.

Presentation Summary: I will discuss the effects of extreme weather conditions on bridge decsk performance and some mitigation measures that can be employed.
Bio/Expertise Highlights: I have worked in bridge construction for 14 years and have been the State Bridge Construction & Maintenance Engineer for 7 years. I wrote many of TxDOT's specifications for bridge construction and have also developed several training classes for engineers and inspectors.
