Presentation Summary: Tim will address various issues related to standard truss and monotube type overhead sign supports, emphasizing the pertinent roles of districts and divisions in the plan preparation process.
Bio/Expertise Highlights: Tim has been the OPR for sign, luminaire, and traffic signal structure supports standard and custom design in the Bridge Division since a couple of weeks before 9-11. Among other duties, his small group of three people (himself included) is responsible for developing and maintaining the Traffic Division standards for these structural supports, as well as for reviewing alternate designs and certain shop drawings and providing design support to districts and consultants. He divides his time between these functions and his other OPR roles, that of the development and maintenance of design and analysis software for use by TxDOT engineers and consultants and that of expertise in various aspects of structural concrete design and design specification review and development.
