TTI Council Member: Mark Stiles

Mark Stiles is Senior Vice President of Trinity Industries, Inc., a diversified industrial company. His responsibilities include oversight of the company's Highway Safety, Concrete and Aggregate, Structural Bridge, Marine, LPG, Fittings and Logistics groups.

Beginning in 1971 as a salesman with Transit Mix Concrete in Beaumont, Texas, Stiles rose to General Manager in 1991. After acquisition of Transit Mix Concrete by Trinity Industries, Stiles was named President of Transit Mix in 1993. Stiles directed the growth of the Concrete and Aggregate Division'’ sales from $18 million to $240 million.

Stiles served 8 terms in the Texas House of Representatives. During his years in the House, Stiles served as a member of all of the major House committees at one time or another. He served an unprecedented three terms as Chairman of the critical Committee on Calendars. Recognized by many for his work, Stiles was instrumental in major legislative reforms in property tax, insurance, education and criminal justice.

Stiles currently serves as a board member of the Texas Taxpayers and Research Associate, the Texas Civil Justice League and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. Comfortable at the microphone, Stiles is often sought as a featured speaker for groups and associations throughout Texas.
