Digital Publishing Facility
With nearly half a century of collective experience, TTI Communications' Publishing and Distribution Services (PDS) group offers turnkey quick copy and mailing services in support of our sponsors' technology transfer initiatives. Services include
- Xerographic and color reproduction;
- document assembly and binding;
- QC/QA through diligent proof review;
- mailing list processing;
- labeling and direct mailing of deliverables; and
- interfacing with U.S. Post Office personnel to facilitate mail delivery.
The group is supported by state-of-the-practice publishing hardware and software. The IKON Imagerunner 110 Publishing System uses digital imaging to approximate 3-dimensional images in a 2-dimensional environment. The system prints black and white 600 X 600 dpi at 110 sheets per minute, making the Imagerunner the ideal machine for publishing high-volume black-and-white products such as widely distributed technical research reports or newsletters run on preprinted shells. The group uses Adobe® Acrobat® portable document format (PDF) as a standard publishing platform for printing quality deliverables for sponsors. The PDF files are then linked and posted on the Internet as part of an ongoing digital archiving process. The group provides color laser printing/copying support with its two top-of-the-line IKON iR C3200 series color printers. The 400 x 400 color prints complement the high-volume output of the Imagerunner to produce cost-effective, yet visually attractive technical documents. Finally, publications are distributed for sponsors using PostalSoft DeskTop Mailer® for mail list certification and delivered directly to the U.S. Postal Service.
