Dr. Maurice Dennis is a Senior Research Scientist in the Center for Alcohol and Drug Education Studies (CADES) at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) and Center for Transportation Safety (CTS). He brings with him over 35 years of experience in both Safety Education and Alcohol/Drug studies. Over the course of those 35 years, Dr. Dennis has had a total of 111 publications and has contributed to over 214 projects in traffic safety related areas since 1976.
Dr. Dennis’ experience includes serving as Director of CADES, Coordinator and Professor of the Safety Education Program at Texas A&M University. Under his direction the CADES program has been responsible for the development of programs such as Texas DWI Education Program, Texas Alcohol Education Program for Minors, Texas Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program, and the Driver Education Guide. During his tenure as Professor of the Safety Education Program, Dr. Dennis taught 22 safety education courses and co-authored 4 Safety Education textbooks.
As a Research Scientist at TTI, Dr. Dennis has been responsible for the development of an Expert Witness Training Program dedicated to training expert witnesses to assist prosecutors in alcohol/drug related cases. He has also trained Adult and Juvenile Probation Officers in alcohol/drug/traffic safety education to better assist them with handling individuals placed on probation with traffic safety and alcohol-related violations. Currently, Dr. Dennis is developing an Alcohol/Ignition Interlock curriculum to increase alcohol/ignition interlock knowledge and awareness amongst adult probation officers.

Paige Ericson
Ms. Paige Ericson is a Research Assistant in the Center for Alcohol and Drug Education Studies (CADES) within the Center for Transportation Safety (CTS) at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute.
Ms. Ericson is gaining valuable alcohol/drug education experience while working for Dr. Dennis. As an associate author of the Alcohol/Ignition Interlock Training Program curriculum, she has been heavily involved in the editing process. Ms. Ericson is also responsible for developing and managing the CADES website, which has contributed to the overall efficiency of the MIP registration process.
Ms. Ericson is a recent master’s graduate from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
