In this successful statewide program, CTS staff provided technical assistance and outreach support to the Safe Routes to School Program by representing the program during conferences, events, trainings, national and statewide meetings, etc. This support included assistance with program guidelines, application materials and web presence. During the most recent program call, CTS staff facilitated the application process electronically, provided technical support to the review committees, and established an electronic repository for all application materials and local SRTS plans. The staff continues to work with TxDOT to improve the SRTS application process by facilitating the migration of the proposal/project management process to TxDOT’s eGrants system.
