The adage “time is money” is particularly true for freight. A successful modern day freight movement involves the seamless interaction with other modes such as aviation, shipping and trucking. With an increased emphasis on homeland security measures for international movements, it is more than ever important to constantly evaluate established procedures and work to make them more efficient.

Researchers at the Texas Transportation Institute’s Rail Research Group have experience with the policies and procedures associated with the interaction of rail with other freight modes.
