Interoperability Test Lab

Description

The main purpose of this facility is to establish and administer a comprehensive testing program capable of ensuring standards compliance to NTCIP (National Transportation communications for ITS Protocol) by equipment manufacturers. The development process includes specifications and test procedures, as well as documentation and reporting requirements. Test results are used by agencies desiring to construct a qualified products list, and by manufacturers to achieve an independent compliance validation.

Expertise

The Interoperability Test Laboratory staff has a diversified transportation research staff with experience in advanced communication technologies and interoperability and standards testing.

Cooperative Relationships/Sponsors

The Interoperability Test Laboratory maintains cooperative relationships with the Texas Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
