TTI's Commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action

The Texas Transportation Institute is committed to providing a work climate that is conducive to the personal and professional development of each individual. All TTI divisions have the responsibility for achieving an equal opportunity environment, and each TTI employee should encourage an atmosphere that values and nurtures collegiality, diversity, and pluralism and the uniqueness of the individual within our state, nation, and the world.

To achieve our objectives in the areas of research and service, we are ultimately dependent on the full and effective utilization of all of our human resources. One obligation is to fill each and every position in the Texas Transportation Institute with the best qualified person available. Consistent with this obligation is our commitment to ensure women and minorities have access to all of our opportunities. Therefore, all personnel actions will be implemented without any form of harassment or illegal discrimination against researchers, staff, and applicants for employment. We will also periodically conduct an analysis to ensure that personnel decisions are in full accordance with the principles and spirit of equal opportunity law.

To confirm our continuing commitment to provide equal opportunity in employment practices, the Texas Transportation Institute has adopted a policy of affirmative action directed at correcting inequities that may exist in our work force. The progress of TTI's affirmative action plan and recruitment plan will be monitored on a regular basis and updated annually. Mr. Gregory Richmond, Human Resources Officer, has overall responsibility for administering this program.

It is our firm commitment to ensure that equal employment opportunity will be provided throughout the Texas Transportation Institute to all employees and prospective employees.
