Short Biography

Kathy Montemayor has been planning events since 2000. Ms. Montemayor has extensive experience in site selection/contract negotiation, event logistics planning and financial management. She has been the lead event planner for over 75 events. Ms. Montemayor has worked closely with TTI Administration events and TTI sponsored events, such as the Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) Summit and the National Highway-Rail Grade Crossing Safety Conference. In addition, Ms. Montemayor has also worked closely with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and has managed several of their events, including the Transportation Short Course, the Texas Ports & Waterways Conference, the Transportation Planning Conference, and TxDOT's Design and Bridge Conference, among others. She has also worked with numerous outside clients such as the Intelligent Transportation Society and numerous departments within the Texas A&M University System. She oversees events with less than 50 participants to more than 2,500. Ms. Montemayor has managed budgets in excess of $500,000. In her role with TDS, Ms. Montemayor has continued her work with special event planning and also assists with the development of databases, reporting, budgeting and coordinating the Teen Advisory Board, among other activities. Ms. Montemayor holds a bachelor of business administration from The University of Texas at Austin.
