Short Biography
Montie Wade has more than thrity-five years of experience in both state and local government planning, designing, constructing and maintaining systems of highways and public transportation facilities. Thirty-one of these years of professional experience were with the Texas Department of Transportation.In addition to his design experience, he has managed urban and advanced planning, traffic and traffic safety, and public involvement. He has extensive experience in preliminary engineering, route and design determination, environmental impact analysis and mitigation of consequences and also managed a legal section whose responsibility was to administer highway and access law as well as utility relocation, right of way acquisition, and eminent domain.
As Director of Planning for an urbanized area local government, he administered the long and short range planning process, city engineering responsibilities, and managed planning and zoning regulations including responsibility for site impact analyses and evaluation of relationships of transportation and land development. He has authored several papers and taught planning and preliminary engineering on an international basis.
