Short Biography
Richard Cole has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, advertising agency creative director and interactive media developer. He is currently the Director of Communications at Texas A&M Transportation Institute.
As Director of Communications, Mr. Cole is responsible for the management and creative direction of a full-service communications department serving TTI, its sponsors, and the Texas A&M University community. Mr. Cole brings more than two decades of experience as a professional communicator in both the public and private sectors. During his tenure with TTI, Mr. Cole has concentrated his professional efforts on information design and content development for transportation-related training, outreach and technology transfer.
His work has received state and national recognition in numerous awards competitions, including four Telly Awards for video production and top honors for his writing from the Associated Press, Texas Press Association, International Association of Business Communicators (Silver Quill), and the International Newspaper Publishers Association. His work on the first interactive undergraduate catalog for Texas A&M University was the subject of a 1992 feature story in New Media magazine.
