Short Biography

As TTI's media relations contact, Rick Davenport fields inquiries from state, national and international reporters. He coordinates interviews between the media and TTI's various transportation experts. Rick also writes news releases, media advisories and web stories to highlight TTI research to both technical audiences and the general public. He is also responsible for a monthly internal electronic newsletter called CenterLine, which is distributed to TTI's 600 employees. Perhaps his single most important job duty at TTI is to convert technically complicated research results into easily understandable information that highlights the value of the research to the public and our nation's transportation system.

Prior to working for TTI, Rick worked for several television stations in Texas over the course of 15 years. He held positions as anchor, reporter, producer and assignment editor and was the recipient of numerous awards which cited his journalistic versatility in reporting and anchoring individual news stories and series.
