Short Biography

Ms. Iragavarapu is an Assistant Transportation Researcher in the Traffic Operations Group at Texas A&M Transportation Institute. Since joining TTI in June 2009, Ms. Iragavarapu has been a key researcher on various TxDOT and FHWA projects involving traffic operations, visibility, pedestrian safety, and work zones.

Ms. Iragavarapu received her Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2007, and she holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering (University Gold Medalist) from Nagarjuna University, India.

Before joining TTI, Ms. Iragavarapu worked with civil engineering consultants in San Antonio and Houston on traffic operations related projects (traffic impact analyses, signal warrants and signal design). Ms. Iragavarapu also worked part-time at TTI's Center for Transportation Safety, Human Factors Group as a graduate student.

Ms. Iragavarapu is a registered Engineer-in-Training in the State of Texas and is the current President for the Brazos Valley Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. Ms. Iragavarapu is also a member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Operation Effects of Geometric Design Committee and Visibility Committee.
