Short Biography

Annie Protopapas joined TTI in September 2006 as an Assistant Research Scientist in Multimodal Freight Transportation Programs. She holds Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering with concentrations in transportation engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Prior to joining TTI she taught transportation and general engineering courses as an Assistant Professor at Marshall University in West Virginia. Her industry experience includes structural and roadway design, construction management, and facilities maintenance management.

Areas of research interest include intermodal transportation and freight systems and their relation to transportation planning, operations, ITS, air quality, safety, design, and geographic information systems.
