Short Biography

Mike Guidry joined TTI as a research associate in 2008 and has worked for The Texas A&M University System since 1994. He has worked in several positions with the Center for Transportation Safety (CTS) and currently works under TTI Communications.

Mike has 20 years' military experience with both the U.S. Navy Seabees and the U.S. Air Force. As a construction engineer with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 28, EO1 (SCW), Guidry deployed to Iraq in 2007, where he conducted 16-hour shifts in the Combat Operations Center and set up communications for convoy movements running at night. Over 500 air and ground convoy movements were tracked with no casualties. Mike is now a staff sergeant with the Air Force Security Forces under the Texas Air National Guard. Staff Sergeant Guidry is scheduled to deploy again in 2014.

Work here at TTI began with hundreds of seat belt studies and a Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification under CTS. He assisted with data collection, analysis and entry of several hundred red-light camera accident reports. Mike currently plays an active role in assisting TTI's Teens in the Driver Seat program with the development of the Military Safety Initiative.

Currently under Communications, Mike continues to assist CTS when needed while conducting a wide variety of special projects for Communications. In addition to Mac Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, he is also proficient with Corel Draw on the PC. Mike specializes in printing approximately forty 44" x 90" posters for the annual TRB event in Washington, D.C. During the 2012 annual Short Course, Mike developed 24 permanent 7-foot sign boards with reusable sign toppers to be used for years to come. Mike constantly updates the TTI organizational chart, interior and exterior maps of several Texas A&M properties for special events, laminated ID cards, engineering graphic presentations, 3D models, large dry-mounting projects, and can be called upon as a photographer, all while conducting normal graphic design projects assigned through Communications.
