Short Biography
Dr. Stockton is Executive Associate Agency Director and Chief Research Officer at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, and former Visiting Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University. He has more than 35 years of professional experience, primarily in the public sector. In addition to 25 years of State service in College Station, San Antonio and Austin, he served the City of Austin for 10 years as Director of Public Works and Director of Emergency Medical Services.Dr. Stockton leads Interdisciplinary Research at TTI, which includes designated "high impact" research projects and Strategic Research Initiatives. He is an active member of numerous local, state and national professional societies and their committees.
He received his Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
