Short Biography

Mr. John Holmgreen worked as Service Station Attendant/Mechanic through High School and two years of College. He then worked full-time as a mechanic and salesman at Brazos Tire Service in Bryan, Texas for seven years. After that he apprenticed to a licensed aircraft mechanic at Holley Aircraft Repair in Conroe for six months and then worked counter sales at HI-LO Auto Parts in College Station for eight months.

In 1978 Mr. Holmgreen was hired by TTI, Human Factors Division, to teach Police Driver Training at the Driver Skill Development Center at the TAMU Research Annex (Riverside Campus). This position became more research oriented and driver training became a smaller part of the responsibility of the work. He gathered field data and performed data entry contributing to to reports for many research projects. He built experimental devices and simulators for research and contributed to development of standards for adaptive vehicles for the Texas Rehabilitation Commission, and inspected those vehicles for conformance to the standards.
