Tools for Contracting with Consultant for Engineering Services on Highway Projects

Project Description

Researchers on this project met with district staff members that volunteered to use and report on the Contract Rates Cost Proposal tools. Researchers provided instructions and suggestions on tool use in negotiations with consultants. Researchers then analyzed the feedback from district use of tools with the Texas Department of Transportation, Design Division Consulting Contracting Office (TxDOT DES-CCO) to identify tool changes that can improve effectiveness and ease of use. The research is aimed at improving the tools as indicated by the testing and as determined by TxDOT DES-CCO.
