HOV Lane Enforcement Handbook and Safety Considerations Handbook

Two of a series of handbooks being developed by the HOV Pooled-Fund Study, the enforcement and safety considerations handbooks, are being written as references for a general audience of engineers, planners, managers, enforcement agencies, and public officials. These handbooks will summarize the state of the practice, with chapters devoted to each aspect leading to the functioning of a high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) facility and including case studies for illustration. Each handbook will also include a chapter with suggestions for future research and assessment. In addition, white papers will be written further detailing opportunities for future research and dissemination of information.
