Emissions Study Mexican Trucks Crossing International Bridges
Project Description
There are more than four million truck movements from Mexico into the U.S. on an annual basis. Emissions generated by trucks crossing into the U.S. and from the U.S. into Mexico are potentially significant and had not been quantified. With the expected economic recovery and the recent Supreme Court decision that will eventually open the border to Mexican trucks, the number of trucks crossing the U.S.-Mexico border increased, creating higher congestion levels and increased emissions. The purpose of this study was to quantify Mexican truck emissions at major Texas-Mexico border gateways.
