Facilitation of the Public Transportation Advisory Committee for Texas Department of Transportation

Project Description

The Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) is providing facilitation and technical assistance for the Public Transportation Advisory Committee (PTAC). The members of PTAC are appointed by the Texas Transportation Commission to advise the commission on the needs and problems of the state's public transportation providers, including the methods for allocating state and federal public transportation money among 69 small urban and rural providers throughout the state. The scope of the TTI facilitation includes: analysis of the existing model for allocation of funds for public transportation in the state; development of modifications to the model to improve the use of performance measures for fund allocation; and discussion of the formula and performance measures with members of PTAC and Texas Department of Transportation staff during a series of workshops and public meetings.
