Evaluation Service Effectiveness and Efficiency for Student Transportation: Lamar Consolidated Independent School District
Project Description
The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD) is rapidly transforming from a rural school district to a significant suburban district. The Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) is preparing a 10-year plan to meet the transportation needs of a student enrollment that is projected to more than double. The researchers assisted in interviews with key management, support staff, and front-line employees and participated in preparing and presenting an initial peer review and operational assessment. They are currently gathering detailed data from 20 peer school districts based upon the initial findings. TTI will provide for LCISD a roadmap for capital investment and revised operating strategies required to meet student transportation demand over the next 10 years.
