Texas Metropolitan Mobility Plan
Project Description
Program researchers, along with other Texas Transportation Institute researchers, have developed a variety of tools for use by state departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) to estimate the effect of transportation improvements. The Texas Metropolitan Mobility Plan (MMP) is a joint effort of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the eight large Texas MPOs to identify needs for congestion relief. The significant growth in population and employment forecast for the Texas metropolitan regions will place significant demands on the transportation and planning agencies. The analysis tools have been used to improve the estimates of benefits and costs of addressing the congestion challenges.
