Alternative Funding Solutions for ITS Deployment
Project Description
The objective of this research project was to examine a variety of approaches and alternatives for acquiring future funding for ITS deployment within the state of Texas. This objective was accomplished through the following activities:
- identifying stakeholders and possible beneficiaries of ITS technologies (as potential funding sources);
- identifying alternative funding solutions and programs;
- detecting potential barriers to implementing new funding alternatives; and
- developing strategies for overcoming potential barriers and implementing promising alternatives.
The product of this research effort is a guidebook outlining promising programs and approaches for obtaining future funds for deploying ITS technologies in the State of Texas.
