Monitor Field Performance of Full-Depth Asphalt Pavements to Validate Design Procedures
Project Description
TxDOT constructs several full-depth "perpetual" pavements on heavily traveled routes. These structures consist of asphalt layers typically 14 to 18 inches thick over a prepared foundation layer. The goal of this study was to monitor the performance of the existing projects, to test the materials in the field and laboratory, and to identify the lessons learned for these initial projects in order to improve future full-depth designs.
