End Terminal for Box-Beam Median Barrier: Final Report

This report summarizes the results of the effort involved in crash testing and evaluating the box-beam median barrier end terminal design. Chapter II of the report outlines the study approach. Detailed descriptions of the final end terminal design is presented in Chapter III of the report. Results of the crash tests are documented in Chapter IV of the report. Chapter V presents the study findings, conclusions and recommendations. Standard drawings prepared by the Wyoming Department of transportation (Wyoming DOT) on the box-beam guardrail, box-beam median barrier, box-beam guardrail end terminal (WY-BET), and box-beam median barrier end terminal (WY-BET[MB]) are shown in Appendix A. Descriptions and discussions on revisions to the design details incorporated by the Wyoming DOT into its standard drawings are presented in Appendix B.
