- Danish Transport Research Institute (DTF)
- The Danish Transport Research Institute (DTF) is a research institute under the Ministry of Transport and Energy. The institute commenced its activities in August 2000. The purpose of the Institute is to strengthen transport research with special focus on fields like transport safety and risk as well as transport economics and transport modeling. The Institute is located at Knuth-Winterfeldts Allé in Lyngby in close connection with the Technical University of Denmark.

- French National Institute for Transport and Safety Research (INRETS)
- French National Institute for Transport and Safety Research (INRETS) was created in 1985 and is a state-financed scientific and technological body under the dual administrative supervision of the Ministry of Research and the Ministry of Transport. The institute's activities involve such diverse fields as economics, sociology, psychology, physiology, ergonomics, biomechanics, acoustics, mechanics, mathematics, computer science electronics and electro-technical.
- Institute for Transport Sciences Ltd. (KTI)
- The first predecessor of the Institute for Transport Sciences Ltd. (KTI) was established in 1938 by the minister for trade and transport affairs in Hungary, under the name of the National Automobile Experimental Station. Since then the activities covered by the institute have grown continually and now include such areas as transport safety, traffic engineering, transport policy, environmental protection, passenger and goods transportation, transport by water and air, network planning and transport economics. The KTI Documentation and Information Centre (DIK) is a national specialist public library offering professionals in the field some 60,000 Hungarian and foreign language books as well as a huge number of professional documents on both the theories and practicalities of transport.

- Founded in 1966, the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) at Leeds University is one of the leading interdisciplinary groups involved in teaching and research in transport studies. Its current emphases are on the planning, design, operation, and use of land transport facilities in Europe and in developing countries.

- Transport Research Centre (CDV)
- The Transport Research Centre (CDV) has more than a forty year tradition of research and development. - Transport Research Institute (TRI)
