Rail

Exploring the future of freight is the focus of rail research conducted at the Texas Transportation Institute. People and freight may one day move cross-country or simply across a state on quiet, automated, and environmentally friendly shuttles.

TTI's dedicated and innovative rail researchers are looking at ways to improve and expand the use of rail, one of the country's oldest and most reliable systems of moving people and freight.
