1. Prohibition of Firearms

System Regulation 34.06.02 prohibits concealed handguns, unlicensed handguns and all other firearms in any System or component building or portion of a building, state vehicle, or on any grounds on which an activity sponsored by a System component is being conducted. This rule has been developed by the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) to supplement the System regulation and clarify that all Institute buildings, vehicles or any grounds on which TTI-sponsored activities take place will follow that Regulation. The System follows Texas Penal Code Section 46.03 in the administration of its regulation.

2. Licensed Peace Officers

Licensed peace officers are authorized by law to carry firearms at all times, and will be so authorized in any TTI facility, vehicle or grounds.

3. Components Located in College Station

All TTI buildings, facilities and grounds of TTI, whether located in Brazos County or in other locations within Texas, will abide by this rule.
