Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) provides professional development, fellowship, and networking opportunities for young transportation professionals. Founded by several ambitious young transportation engineers, planners, and public policy professionals in the Washington, D.C. area, there’s now an established chapter in most major cities in the U.S. YPT partners with the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, Women in Transportation, and the Transportation Research Board for most of its events, so dual membership is no problem!

Nick Norboge, Jonathan Brooks, Lauren Othold, and Megan Kenney from the TTI Houston and College Station offices are currently working to formally establish a chapter in the Greater Houston area. Our goal is simple: to better connect anyone interested in transportation issues to promote professional development and leadership opportunities for young Texas transportation professionals.

Our first professional development event is scheduled for Thursday February 7th at Julia’s Bistro (3722 Main St., Houston, TX) from 5pm – 8pm. You can join YPT or sign up for our monthly newsletters by filling out this online form.

For more information or ways to help us get the YPT Houston chapter going, contact Nick Norboge. If you’re in the Austin area, contact Nick Wood, Deputy Chair for the YPT Austin chapter.
