After 15 years in the Navy reserves, Safety Coordinator Stuart Denner will soon be deployed…on a ship. It’ll be his first time on board a boat. So, he’s taking a suitcase full of sea-sickness patches, just in case.

The deployment will be a South American tour of duty — a humanitarian mission that includes home building in Ecuador.  He’s pleased with the assignment, considering it was originally scheduled as an Afghanistan deployment.

“I’m not worried a lot about where we’re going,” he said. “But to be on a boat…well, that makes me nervous.”

A TTI reception in his honor was held Oct. 4, a few days before his deployment.

Denner will be assigned to HSV-2 Swift, based out of Ingleside, Texas. He plans to continue working for TTI upon his return.
