Teaching Mission
TTI plays a key role in training and educating students. Over 40 TTI researchers hold joint academic positions at Texas A&M University. The academic faculty facilitate the educational mission of the Institute and help attract students into the transportation profession. Faculty relationships also provide a direct link to scientific expertise, technologies and equipment that provide a competitive edge for TTI’s research program.
The Institute maintains a close association with its sister engineering agencies in The Texas A&M University System, the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. TTI has academic relationships with the Texas A&M University College of Engineering, and its Zachary Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering; the College of Architecture’s Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning; and the George Bush School of Government and Public Service’s Institute for Science, Technology, and Public Policy, as well as other academic units within the Texas A&M System and other collaborating universities.
