High Impact Projects
- Long-Range Issues Affecting Highway Infrastructure – The objective of this research project is to provide everyone who is involved with transportation a better understanding of what the world’s future may do to transportation and provide guidance for how new materials, tools, approaches and technologies may be used to deal with changes to transportation in the next 50 years. That guidance will be directed at those involved in preserving, maintaining and improving highway transportation systems.

I-35 Mobility: The Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) was asked by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to assist in the application and refinement of prior research to help ensure the successful completion of the reconstruction of the IH-35 corridor from Hillsboro to Salado (90 miles total). TTI will implement the project during the five years of the overall IH-35 construction project (2011-2015) for $16.8 million. (Read more)
