The Texas A&M Transportation Institute’s (TTI’s) Youth Transportation Safety (YTS) Program has been recognized with the 2024 Innovative Transportation Solutions Award by the WTS San Antonio Region. The honor was presented during the organization’s annual gala on Apr. 10, 2025.

The award celebrates impactful efforts that advance innovation in transportation, with the YTS Program earning the distinction for its work to educate and empower young road users through outreach, research and peer-led engagement. The program was nominated by members of the transportation community and selected for its long-standing commitment to improving safety outcomes for youth.

YTS Program Manager Lisa Minjares-Kyle accepted the award on behalf of TTI.

“We’re always grateful to be recognized for the important work that our team does, especially by such a great organization as WTS,” says Minjares-Kyle. “This recognition reflects the time, dedication and passion that our team brings to their work daily and helps advance our goals of saving young lives on our nation’s roads.”

Housed within TTI’s Center for Transportation Safety, the YTS Program develops and promotes safe driving campaigns at the school and community levels across Texas and beyond.
