At the invitation of U.S. Congressman Dan Lipinski (D-IL), TTI Agency Director Greg Winfree is participating in a connected and automated vehicle (CAV) policy roundtable in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, July 26, at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) at the Capitol Visitors Center. The roundtable, titled ‘‘The Road Ahead: Developing Policies to Make Connected and Automated Vehicles a Reality,’’ is focused on understanding crash risks, safety assurance testing, and resolving crash liability for automated vehicles.
The roundtable is comprised of national policy experts, with the goal of identifying relevant issues and working toward collaborative solutions on issues ranging from technology deployment, a research and development agenda, information sharing, infrastructure requirements, the regulatory environment and the proper role of governments, and ensuring vehicle cybersecurity.
This is the fourth in a series of roundtables on automated vehicles that the Congressman has hosted.
