Short Biography
Emily Martin is an experienced project manager with research skills that include curriculum development and implementation, evaluating programs and interventions, Texas crash data extraction and analysis, and multi-site, long term data collection and management. As an Assistant Research Scientist at Texas A&M Transportation Institute, Emily uses data and stakeholder input to understand road safety issues and identify ways to reduce risky situations and behaviors and increase the likelihood of individuals adopting safe practices. Emily has worked with a variety of populations including truck and fleet drivers, workers, law enforcement officers, parents and young children, hospital patients, and prison inmates. She has particular interest in designing data collection systems that mitigate participant response burden, integrating Public Health approaches and theories into transportation research and outreach, and clear and innovative storytelling through data visualizations and reports. Emily has her Bachelor's in Health and Master's in Health Education from Texas A&M University.
