Short Biography
Chris Sasser is the manager of the Web and Information Services Group at TTI. In this role, he oversees a staff of eight employees who are responsible for creating websites for TTI and many for the Texas A&M University System and the Library Services group, overseeing the library's operation and providing research support to TTI researchers through literature searches and acquisition. As the manager of the group, he is in charge of new business development, project management and overall management of staff.
Mr. Sasser also provides technical writing and editing for transportation projects and is responsible for the main TTI website and the 45 accompanying program and division websites. In this role, he plans content, monitors analytics, conducts biannual meetings and oversees design changes. Mr. Sasser is also the managing editor and head writer of Wingtips, the official newsletter of the Texas Department of Transportation’s Aviation Division. He is responsible for content planning, story assignments, editorial assistance, and the publication process. He provides outreach assistance to the Aviation Division through conference planning and editorial support including the development of an annual report. Mr. Sasser works closely with researchers from all divisions and with other transportation field and administrative personnel to write and edit print, electronic, and multimedia products that facilitate implementation and technology transfer of transportation research. Mr. Sasser supports projects by ensuring that written materials are clear, effective, and professionally written. Mr. Sasser was awarded the TTI/Trinity Administrative Professional Staff Award in 2012, and the Herbert Richardson team awards in 2008 and 2009.
