Short Biography
Myunghoon Ko has been working as a Research Engineer of the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) since a doctoral degree in Transportation Engineering from the Texas A&M University in December of 2011. Dr. Ko has expertise in transportation safety analysis, evaluation, and education with emphasis on vulnerable roadway users (young pedestrians, bicyclists, and older drivers and pedestrians) and specialty in the application of systemic/proactive safety approaches and driving environment simulation programming.
Dr. Ko has been leading several pedestrian/bicyclist safety projects regarding the safety improvement of young pedestrians/bicyclists aged 5 to 10 years old and older pedestrians aged 65 years old and older. In the projects, educational materials (animated videos, cartoon book, virtual reality experience, and brochures) to educate the vulnerable road users and to improve their traffic safety have been developed and distributed.
