Short Biography

Rubiana L. Mares, M.Ed., is a Program Specialist III for the Youth Traffic Safety (YTS) program at Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). She holds over 18 years of experience in recruitment, program development, community outreach, and event management. In addition, she has spent the last ten years serving in the field of traffic safety with a concentration on young adults and youth. Ms. Mares has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for multiple projects across multiple states, including Pedestrian and Bike Safety in Texas. She leads the Teen Advisory Board for the Teens in the Driver Seat® program. Currently she is serving as the Board President for the Society of Government Meeting Professional (SGMP) San Antonio Area Chapter. Rubiana is a Certified Peer Program Educator, Certified Government Meeting Professional and has obtained a Master of Education degree in Higher Education.
